-means “I’m crazy for shoes” (obsessed with shoes).
I NEGOZI DELL’USATO
-means “The Thrift Shop” (stores that sells used good).
BELLA FIGURA – Good Image (to impress others) is important to Italians.
RUDE OR CULTURE?
-(referring to the clip shown) Culture! Italians are comfortable with their own body. It’s a Liberated/Free Country, people can behave however they want.
SEI NATA PER FARE QUESTO
-means “You were born to be”.
-(as it is) means “My Parents”.
Miei (FOLLOWED by a noun) means “My”.
Miei (BEFORE a verb) means “Mine”.
COME STANNO I SUOI GENITORI
-means “How are your parents”.
OGNI TANTO VADO ANCH’IO
-means “Every now and then I go too…”
Each Episode is made up of two components.
First a chat 100% in Italian between me and one of my Italian friends. These chats are 100% real, authentic, unscripted Italian, including very colloquial expressions and … at full speed! Just like you would speak with your friends in your language.
Then there is an Explainer Lesson, this time in English, where we revisit the chat in Italian and analyze its content, including:
– idiomatic expressions
– specific grammatical points
