Few weeks ago, I started a lesson about NE particle/pronoun and this video is the final lesson about that topic.
Today, there will be no more explanations and no more grammars. We are going over the sentences/exercises that were assigned to you and we’re going to discuss them in this video.
We had 10 sentences, the first 5 we’re going to translate from English to Italian. The next 5 we’re going to translate from Italian to English.
Here are the sentences that I used for English to Italian:
I don’t have any kids. How many do you have?
(Io non ho figli. Tu quanti ne hai?)
Apples? I’ll have three, thanks!
(Mele? Ne prendo 3, Grazie!)
Yesterday I bought a few books. I bought five.
(Ieri ho comprato libri. Ne ho comprati cinque)
My sister has two kids. Have you seen them?
(Mia sorella ha due figli. Li hai visti?)
I love strudel! I’ll have three slices!
(Adoro lo strudel! Ne prendo tre fette.)
Here are the sentences that I used for Italian to English:
Che ne dici se andiamo al cinema stasera?
(What do you say about us going to the movies tonight?)
Hai fatto i biscotti? Quanti tipi ne hai fatti?
(Did you make cookies? How many types of them have you made?)
I tuoi libri? Mi dispiace, non ne so nulla.
(Your books? I’m sorry, I don’t know nothing about it)
Elisa e una granda artista e ne rispetto l’originalità)
(Elisa is a great artist I respect her originality.)
Io non sono mai a casa e i miei figli se ne approfittano.
(I am never at home and my children takes advantage of it.)
Take note that the answers I gave you are not the only possible answer, there are always a number of ways of saying things.
I go in detail in the video lesson, so please do take the time to watch it!
