Conversational Italian: TUTTI I SANTI GIORNI (everyday)

In this video 100% in Italian (and therefore for Advanced Students) we look at a very common Italian expression of time.

And it’s:
TUTTI I SANTI GIORNI
(literally “every holy/Saint day”)

It’s basically the same as
– tutti i giorni / ogni giorno (everyday)

BUT we use this expression to highlight the exasperation and disappointment.


If I say:

STA SETTIMANA LAVORO TUTTI I SANTI GIORNI

I am basically saying that:
this week I’m working every single day… and I am not happy about it! I would like to NOT work every single day!

If I say:
TUA MADRE MI TELEFONA TUTTI I SANTI GIORNI

I am trying to say that I am not very happy that your mother calls me every single day!
